Poetry for Pleasure: Introduction

Get Your Heart Broken. Write About It.

This workshop explores a fun, experiential and informal way of learning how to read and write poetry. Using song lyrics, poems and other forms of beautiful storytelling, you’ll be exposed to the way poets think about their work and the experiences that touch and transform you.

WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
  1. Explore different ways of expressing ideas through poetry

  2. Dissect the structure of some poems to see what makes them tick

  3. Excavate the hidden meaning behind selected poems

  4. Create a first chapbook to kick-start a collection of our own poems

  5. Have fun
